About Me
My bachelor’s degree is in Biological Engineering from NC State University. My career as a professional began as a civil engineer working in land development. Nine years of experience as an engineer helped me learn how to see complex problems as interconnected systems, break them down into manageable parts, and approach challenges with patience and curiosity. Over time, I realized that the problem-solving skills I valued most were those that involved people rather than projects. This insight led me to transition into the field of mental health counseling, where I now help clients navigate complex emotional and relational challenges with the same structured, thoughtful approach—while centering empathy, collaboration, and human connection.
I graduated from the University of the Cumberlands with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2025. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) within the state of North Carolina and am currently in the process of completing the necessary requirements to become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
As a practicing professional, I have over 700 hours of clinical experience in providing counseling services to college-aged, and older, individuals and couples I also have experience facilitating psychoeducational and support groups.
I enjoy collaborating with clients as they work through trauma, addiction(s), anxiety, depression, and/or issues regarding their spiritual beliefs. I have been trained in EMDR, which is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process and heal from trauma. I offer faith-based counseling upon request.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in an eclectic, solution-focused orientation that facilitates growth at a pace comfortable for my clients. I provide evidence-based tools rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to shed light on thought and/or behavioral patterns that may be keeping you stuck.
